Sister, friend, comrade.

Monday, February 6, 2012

As you grow older, you'd soon realized that there are only a handful of relationships that one can manage and truly appreciats. Those ones are gems to be treasured for life.

This past weekend I took time out to KL to bid farewell to a friend, a sister and a comrade as she departs our beloved homeland for the United States to interestingly, Kansas, Superman's birth place :P It's been 6 years now since I've known her. Since day one she's been a great source of friendship and encouragement, one of the very rare few who I can share about my struggles, weaknesses, life... well, just about anything really. Not having her around in the next 5 years will be odd. Gah, I hate saying goodbye.

Karaoke session with the family. Strutting out all the 90's boy-band ballads :P

Spending the weekend with her and the few Neritons who took time off was a great way to see her off to another chapter of her life. Ending the night with our age-old tradition of "family time" by hearing how everyone's doing, their struggles, expectations and hopes for 2012 was poignant yet appropriate not just for her, but for all of us. Wrapping all that up with prayer was just so apt as God reminded me how it was Him who in the first place had placed each of us together 6 years ago in the high mountain of Cameron.

Family time, age-old tradition.

To Jun, you know how much I cherish the friendship that we have and will continue to cherish.
Since I've already shared during family time that I will "invest more money" in friendship, you'll be top on my list ;) My prayer for you as you reunite with your husband in the States is that you will begin the next chapter of your life firstly with God and from there, I believe everything else will fall into place whether family, studies, friends or love.

Taboo'ing!

Just so you know, we're Team B. We whooped team A. Hahaha.

People always say we look alike and the truth is, it is true.
You look like my sister and I look like your brother.
You're beautiful and I'm handsome.
You're kind and I'm awesome.
You're lovable and I'm irresistible.
So you see, we are very much alike indeed :P

Much blessings to you my dear sister! Missing you already :/
