Road trip is the bomb when you have good company of friends.

I was off to another one of those short but fulfilling road trip escapade last weekend. Actually, it was really more of a reunion with people who are really close to my heart rather than just another typical road trip.
Loads of catching up, beating each other up and of course, eating our way up the weighing scale.

Our journey started off from Penang on Friday afternoon.
First stop - Ipoh mali! Ipoh! Ipoh Mali!

We headed straight for the ORIGINAL Old Town Cafe
(NOTE: ORIGINAL).
The White Coffee no fight man.
It's just the Bomb!
We didn't really hang around in Ipoh that long due to time constraint.
We left for KL and then Banting the following day.

Banting was actually the main stop in this trip.
It was our official meeting venue for the reunion.
Neriton's Camp Cam Family Reunion.

Anyhow, from Banting we travelled to Klang for what else than their famous 'Klang Bah Kut Teh'.

Oh yes, it tastes as good as it looks.
Mmmmmmm... You see the funny thing was this, I've eaten Bah Kut Teh all my life but the following day after I whacked the Klang Bah Kut Teh I had a bad case of allergy and rashes came sprawling all over my body!!!!

It was really bad. The itchyness was just unbearable. I've never had any allergy reaction before and so having it the first time was pretty darn freaky. After whacking one pill and sapu some funny smelling lotion all over my body, I recovered and went on with the makan spree once more... Hehe.
WHAT?! Tak kan' I just sit back and watch the rest whack all the food righhtttttt?
Hmmm... I think it was the power Klang herbs they stuffed in the Bah Kut Teh that caused my allergy... Well, that's my hypothesis.

While I was there, I attended one of my course mate's wedding.
The first to get married!!!
It was really cool. For one, she's my first course mate who's getting married and secondly, it was my first time attending an Indian wedding. It was really interesting, so rich in culture and tradition.
I loved it.

My course mate happily walking down the aisle! (The one on the right).

The best part of Indian weddings?
The food of course!!!! Haha!
After all the wedding procession, the food was the next best thing to attack and trust me,
I attacked it alright... Keke.
Ya man, wedding also I sapu the food.
But honestly, it was really an auspicious and happy occasion...
So very happy for my friend :)

Sunday evening we ended up in Banting's Tanjung Sepat, a place apparently famous for their seafood... *drool*drool*
Before we could actually eat, our host's parents actually brought us go jalan jalan at this really beautiful jetty.
It was really a pretty evening to savour, what more with the people I was with.

The Nuts and Jun's family.

After the little sightseeing, we were off for our food escapade once more!
Seafood, O glorious Seafood!

Yum! Yum! Yum!
I can assure you that my little tummy was satisfied.
It's Chinese culture to eat finish the food and leave nothing behind.
I kept that belief like a true Chinese should... Keke.

Makan, makan, makan sure must exercise a bit lar...
So the following day we went up to this mountain in Banting called Mount Jugra..... in my car.
Muahaha! (I was just too lazy to walk... keke)
The last time I was there it wasn't as nice...
And the last time I was there they didn't have paragliding!

Up...

Up...

And away!!!

From where I stood, it looked freaking scary...

Hmmm, I wonder if I'd actually have the guts to do it... Heights definitely ain't my thing.

Amidst all the good food and beautiful places that we've been too,
the one thing that definitely made this trip worthwhile is our very own "family time" -
A time of sharing, a ritual that we've followed since Camp Cam' 2005.
I'm one who believes that sharing can in turn bless someone in one way or another.
To me, sharing a part of your life to someone else is almost like a sacred ceremonial -
It requires total attention to that person who's sharing, we gotta immerse ourselves into their position, to feel what they feel and to see what they see and only then can we truly appreciate the degree of their life's story.
My family, in particular, shares at a rather intimate level which is core to our fellowship and relationship.
Having been part of their lives, I can say I'm blessed thoroughly.

2 years.
It's been 2 years now since we all first met in Camerons.
I'm really proud that thus far, our family are the only surviving one who are meeting up regularly every year.
I love them so much, words cannot express it.
In retrospect, it's really amazing how God has specifically placed different people in different phase of your life which then makes life's journey all the more colourful and meaningful.
I cannot imagine how my life would be if the friends that I have now aren't part of my life.
Sheer emptiness.
Some people walk in and then walk out of your life but others, well, they remain there with you for the rest of your life until you breathe your very last breath.
These are the people who you'd know has made a difference in your life.

2 years ago we were doubting whether or not we'll still be faithfully meeting up for reunion.
Here we are, 2 years later - Closer than ever.
Neritons, you guys rock!

I love you guys!

p.s. - Gosh... We're all grown up now!

I'm blessed.
