ISLT Level 1

Monday, March 12, 2012

I finally attended the International Sports Leadership Training Level 1 last week. It was AWESOME! Despite the small group that we had (only 6 of us in total!) yet the time spent learning and bonding together was really priceless.

The team sitting through the training session conducted by
Pastor Philips Devadas, a man with a big heart
for God, people and sports.

The whole essence of the training was sports-ministry focused, going through key elements of starting and growing sports ministry and sports ministers/leaders. Some areas that we covered are not new too us, however, the whole training was relational as well which made it really good for us.

Chilling out together at the pool. After which, we spent a
good 20 minutes in the sauna. Syeok betui.

Going through a bit of practical exercise.

I'm excited. I'm excited for each individual who attended the training. Excited because I know God can do great things through each one of them. As I get ready to step out next month, I'm praying that God will keep all of us focus on the basic thing first - His kingdom. Not on big events, not on sports complex, not on finance, but simply on why He has called us to do what we're doing - for His glory.

We also had the opportunity to celebrate with
our team member, Gary Lee, who scored a
superb result in STPM! Congrats bro!

While I'm excited for what God's going to do, I won't deny I'm also afraid. Well, good news is that I'm on the winning side. God's my victory.

19 more days.
