The Adventure of 2 Malaysian Cars
Wednesday, June 30, 2010
I drove to Balik Pulau last night to watch the Contact vs. Innebandy match. After the match, as usual, we'd all head for supper. It was after a good supper that the adventure of the two Malaysian cars begun... Thanks to Khor Kuan Yang (KY).
While paying the bills, KY came up to me.
"Eh.. Crap wei... My car battery die lah... Help me jump start".
I had the thought of ditching him there but since his leg also takleh pakai due to injury, there was no way he could walk back home also. Aih. So, after much thought I decided to help him out lah.
Drove my oh-so-very-cool Proton Saga 1.5 first-generation car and parked it side by side with his tarak-battery Myvi. KY got jump-start cable, as expected.. KY ma.
"Okay.. Positive to.. positive... Negative to negative.... Eh, won't explode right?"
KY asked me, I almost died.
"Vrrrrooooooooommmm..."
Okay. Our jump-start attempt succeeded with no problems. I turned off my car engine and then KY unplugged the cable from my car. Closed the hood and we were ready to balik rumah. Got in to my car and tried to start my car.... Cannot start! The best part, KY's car died again!
I figured, must be the wiring on the battery cause my battery still quite new. Got out of my car and checked the wiring on the battery. Fuh. I'm a genius, I was right. When KY unplugged the cable, he accidentally unplugged the battery wiring as well. Feeling like a genius, I told KY...
"Nah, see I told you d.. Not my battery problem lah.. You lah, go unplugged my battery punya wiring..."
As I said that, I proceeded to attach the wire back and then my whole car alarm went off into reset mode. Amid the alarm siren, I heard a "CLICK" sound from my car door. Oh crap! The alarm reset the central locking and now my car door's locked with my car keys in the car!!!! ARGGGHHHH!!!
So much for being a genius now. I bet KY was laughing at me. Wait, he did laughed at me. Cis.
Now my car keys are locked in the car and KY's car cannot start. Double whammy.
KY terpaksa call reinforcement. He go berhokkien-hokkien with the restaurant workers there and then this young dude, I think still schooling, possibly form 4-5 came with a screwdriver-type tool to my car. I was thinking to myself, "Ceh, you think so easy to pick lock my car meh...".
"Click".
Sweat. Less than 10 seconds he managed to unlock my car door wei. Malaysian car memang best.
First thing I did, quickly go take out my car key. Now smarter d.
Then KY and I did the whole cycle of jump-starting the car again. Positive to positive and negative to negative....
"Vroooooooommm!"
Ok, everything good. I didn't locked my car keys in again just so you know.
All these happened in the span of 10 minutes. Yep, Malaysian cars are the best lah (see how I put the blame on the car and not the car owner :P).

P.S.: KY, just so you know, no it wouldn't explode. Haha.
