I felt compelled to put this down after Traiblazers' match on Saturday.
Everybody hates losing. Worst still, losing it big time. Looking at the scoreline at the end of the game, I knew it was going to be a bitter pill for the team to swallow down. Their courage was literally put under fire. As the final whistle was blown, I looked at my players and I could tell that they were beaten down, heads down and spirit broken. I saw dejection. But as they walked towards the secretariat bench to honour their opponents, I saw something else. I saw not individuals but a team coming together in spite of a deafening defeat. And I must say, I'm proud of them all.
Great teams don't emerge as victors on their first chase for championships. They toil through hardships and face heart-breaking defeats only to meliorate together as one. They are persistent because they do not allow defeats to slow down their advancement.
Great teams are dictators.
They dictate their progress even in times of regress.
